Basic Info
Name:Bellatrix Black
Birthdate:1952-10-31
Bio
Bellatrix is a tall woman, nearly six feet tall, with angular, patrician features which were once breath-takingly beautiful, but which years of semi-starvation, weariness, fanaticism and hatred have twisted into a pale shadow of what they once were. Her hair is extremely long, straight and black, almost a curtain which can occasionally soften the sharp angles of her face. Her eyes are dark, deep-set and heavily lidded, striking pools of blackness in which the only light is a faery-fire masking a terrible hunger, and unwary travellers might stray and never return. She prefers to wear simple, austere robes of black or other dark colors. She does not wear makeup or jewelry.

Her wand is of walnut, 12 3/4 inches, unyielding, with a core of dragon heartstring.

She is extremely skilled at the Dark Arts, having been taught by Voldemort himself. She is also very good at divination and transfiguration.

She is not particularly good at potions, because she has no real patience. She is also poor with Magical Creatures, preferring to order them around and enslave them, and her History of Magic marks were never high either.

Bellatrix belongs, completely and utterly, to Voldemort. Not only is she completely committed to his cause, she is his most fervent supporter, follower and worshipper. She seeks only to please him and to bring his plans to fruition. In other words, she is a Deatheater.

As a person, she is a creature of passions, often defined and ruled by them. She is adventurous, sadistic, brilliant, mercurial, sensual, mysterious, dangerous, arrogant, devoted, insatiable, inexpressive and vengeful.

She is not cold, calculating, manipulative (except in the sense that she is very good at pissing people off), patient, forgiving, wise, honest or completely sane (though her insanity is nothing so prosaic that there are handy-dandy terms that completely define it - it is like a complete fanaticism touched with histrionic bouts, but that's still a bit facile as a defintion).

How does she feel about the war?

Intoxicated. Invigorated. Absolutely and completely vindicated. There has never been a doubt in her mind that Voldemort will bring a new order, and that she will stand at his side as it happens, one of the favored few. Her position truly concerns her less than his approval. The backlash of death, violence and pain is only a minor additional plus.

How does your character feel about killing?

She enjoys it, but not so much as she enjoys causing pain. Death is a release, and one that should be bought only at the expense of great suffering. Pain purifies, as does death. Bellatrix, however, sinks only deeper into the morass of her own desire, her own darkness, her own overwhelming need for something greater, something more pure, more noble, more encompassing. Killing reminds her of her Master, and fills her with a great (occasionally even sexual) pleasure, but also with a deep and cold sense of despair.
